Open Field Report

Despite a Game 1 Loss in Golden State, James played his ass off.  I am impressed and I think he gave his all out there. My only gripe is: I still believe he was too passive in the game.  Sometimes, that team ball mentality has to go away. 

Michael Beasley has been a journeyman during his 10 NBA seasons and it seems he coud be on the move again.  He is rumored to be on the radar of the Suns (Played for Phoenix in 2012) and Hawks. Mark Berman  New York post first broke the new Tuesday:

Every season in the NFL there are turnarounds, there will be teams that improve and there are team's that take a step back. It is usually because of change in personnel, whether it's the coaching staff or the 53-man roster change comes EVERY season. The upcoming 2018 season will be no different,  so let's look at 5 teams on the rise and 5 on the possible decline.

The NFL is digging themselves deeper into a hole when it comes to national anthem protest and it will only get uglier as time goes on. The new rule change in regards to the national anthem is that players who don't feel comfortable standing for the anthem they will be allowed to stay in the locker room until pre-game festivities are done. It seems that the NFL owners think it's a viable solution to a problem that's cost players their jobs, and also causing a rift between players and fans who love the game of football. Their are players such as Giants Defensive Tackle who took to social media (Twitter) to express his thoughts after negative feedback from an NFL fan:

The NFL is known as a passing league and there is a log jam in a game dominated by receivers. The top 2 receivers are in a class by themselves but numbers 3-10 are right on their tail.  Let's look at my top 10 receivers in the NFL today.

Vic Beasley just got his 5th year option picked up by the Falcons but 2018 is still a make or break year for the 4th year pass rusher. He has been on a roller coaster ride since arriving back in 2015.

The Atlanta Hawks came out of the draft lottery with the #3 pick in next month's draft and all the talk that surrounding their next future star. They're a lot of ways to go with this pick but since Atlanta has 3 1st rounders they should take the best available. I'm going to put my vote in for Marvin Bagley III out of Duke University and I'll give you my thoughts on why I like Bagley as Atlanta 1st pick of the first round.

Dennis Schroder's future in Atlanta has been in question for a couple of years now, but his upcoming meeting with team executive's will give us the answers to those questions on the 24-year-old's stance with the team.

LeBron James will have many suitors come next summer and there is one team that no one is talking about until now, that's right the Philadelphia 76ers. You may say this sounds ridiculous, but Sixers President Bryan Colangelo doesn't and while rumors are spreading like a wild fire on social media, this isn't bad publicity. 

The Atlanta Hawks just signed their new head coach Lloyd Pierce to a three year deal, which means it's a new era in Hotlanta.

I'm always putting myself to the test when it comes to top 10 list but it's something I love to do and this time I'm going after the top 10 pass NFL pass rushers.  Former Patriots great Willie McGinest put out his top 10, so I'm going to put my list to the test against one of the greats. Here we go!

Flacco and Rothlisberger seem to be "Hating” on the COMPETITION!

The Toronto Raptors are headed into an offseason full of questions and suspense, but what they really should be worried about is something much, much more. Here are some questions I think the Raptors have to answer this offseason if they want to increase their maximum potential.

LeBron James is heading towards a 9th NBA finals appearance and it seems he's gunning for one more shot at the World Champion Warriors. James and the Cavs swept the Raptors in the Eastern conference semifinals and will face Boston or Philadelphia in the Eastern conference finals.

We are one month into the major league baseball season and the young Atlanta Braves are off to a blazing start as they sit atop the National League East with a 24-15  record.

Drake is known for having beef in the streets but now he's got it on the hardwood too. Drake and Cavs forward Kendrick Perkins argument went 0 to 100 real quick.....(ironic huh) It started at the half of Game 1 of the Cavs/Raptors after the two exchanged heated words, Drake charged towards Perkins but he was retained by Cavs players. It continued at the end of as Drake told Perkins to "Come out of the tunnel".

Car melo Anthony has been one of the more polarizing athletes during his 15-year career and one of the most confusing. He rose to fame by becoming a national champion at Syracuse in his one and only season there, to being labeled as an underachiever because of his lack  of   success in the playoffs during his playing career. Carmelo Anthony is now on the clock in OKC and even though he may play there next season, Anthony may want to tone down his criticism of his team after they were eliminated by the Utah Jazz in the first round of the playoffs. He stated that: " I think the player that they wanted me to be and needed me to be was for the sake of this season," "Everything was just thrown together and it wasn't anything that was planned out. Wasn't no strategy to me being here, me being a part of the actual system and what type of player and things like that." Which in so many words means, "I wasted my ti...
