Open Field Report

The NBA summer is right around the corner and there's always a surprise that NBA fans don't see coming.  Just like LeBron hit us with "The Decision"  nearly a decade ago, it tells us nothing is final until the ink dries on the contract, just ask DeAndre Jordan. Kevin Durant chose to take his talents to the Bay and join the Warriors to cement his legacy as one of the best small forwards to ever play. It's 2018 and there will be sure surprises but bigger questions, I'll throw out a few and tell me what you think: 1. Where will LeBron James take his talents? Will he stay in "The Land"? This is a question fans in all facets of the game want to know, so the drama will be thick enough to cut with a knife. After "Coming home" James put the Cavs on his back and willed them to the city's first championship in 50 years. Now it's time for him to conquer his dreams of winning titles and finding a better squad to suite his talents.  H...

LeBron James is heading towards a 9th NBA finals appearance and it seems he's gunning for one more shot at the World Champion Warriors. James and the Cavs swept the Raptors in the Eastern conference semifinals and will face Boston or Philadelphia in the Eastern conference finals.

Drake is known for having beef in the streets but now he's got it on the hardwood too. Drake and Cavs forward Kendrick Perkins argument went 0 to 100 real quick.....(ironic huh) It started at the half of Game 1 of the Cavs/Raptors after the two exchanged heated words, Drake charged towards Perkins but he was retained by Cavs players. It continued at the end of as Drake told Perkins to "Come out of the tunnel".

The NBA playoffs are finally h ere s o let's get ready to rumble! I think this time the road to the championship is tougher in both conferences and there will be an upset or two, but here are my five biggest questions heading into the 2018 NBA playoffs. Can the Warriors go back to back? The champs battled injuries down the stretch including their star guard Steph Curry, who missed nearly and entire month. The warriors went into a slump down the stretch with one of the worst in the NBA. Curry will miss the first round of the playoffs which is no big deal but how will he hold up? Steve Kerr will have to keep damage control to a minimum. Could LeBron finally get eliminated before the NBA Finals? The Cavs cleaned house at the trade deadline and they have adjusted pretty well as a team but can they get it done in the East? LeB ron James and the Cavaliers are ten games over .500 and at this point who knows how they will end up. I don't know if it's the distraction of the LeBron maybe leaving, Tyronn Lue coaching or the chemistry is just that bad. Whatever the case may be the Cavs front office should get the bulk of the blame, because letting one player dictate who and what he wants around him is a sure shot failure. LeBron has been a major selling point no matter where he's played, but when will these GM's/President's learn you get paid to put a team together, which ultimately determine their success. In light of LeBron returning home, sometimes it's not the best thing to do, because distractions can cloud anyone's point of view and put your entire organization's future in jeopardy.
