Why Willie Taggert is safe at FSU

Article by Antwon "Smitty" Smith It's been a roller coaster ride for Florida State head football coach Willie Taggert in his first season in Tallahassee, but after a 49-point loss to Clemson, his seat may warm up just a little. The Seminoles fall to 4-4 on the season, which puts them one step closer to a losing season and missing a bowl game, something they haven't done in 36 years. Taggert a Florida State alum, is taking over for Jimbo Fischer who took the Texas A&M in the off-season signing a 10-year/$75 million dollar deal to coach in College Station. Fischer finished with an 83-23 record at Florida State and won a national championship with the Noles in 2015. Willie Taggert became the first black head football coach In the history of his alma mater Western Kentucky after being hired back in 2010 The downfall to Fischer leaving, Taggert has to coach the recruiting class that fit Jimbo's system, which is why the Seminoles look lackluster on bot...

Clemson QB Kelly Bryant will transfer amid QB change

Article by Antwon "Smitty" Smith I can't honestly say that there was about to be a shake up in Death Valley but Trevor Lawrence is now the starting QB for the Clemson Tigers, which means Kelly Bryant is now the back up. It immediately entered my mind, what now Kelly Bryant? Will you be a back up to finish your career or use your eligibility for one more season? Well the answer came pretty quickly and it was no surprise at all. Kelly Bryant will transfer, ending his 2018 season. It's the same old sad love song for the former Clemson QB as he sat behind championship QB DeShaun Watson for 2 seasons awaiting his chance in the bright lights. His chance came in 2017, but that seems so long ago as the starting nod was snatched from his hands. Trevor Lawrence has preformed well up to this point (600 pass yards, 9 touchdowns in 4 games) which made the decision tough for coach Sweeney. Bryant expressed his feelings in a long conversation with coach Dabo Sweeney aft...

Urban Meyer put on leave, likely done at Ohio State

Article by Antwon "Smitty" Smith Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has been put on administrative leave by the university, following accusations that Meyer knew about domestic violence issues in 2015 of former assistant Zach Smith. Smith's ex-wife, Courtney Smith said in an interview: "All the [coaches'] wives knew," Courtney Smith told college football reporter Brett McMurphy in  a story posted on his Facebook page . "They all did. Every single one." Smith  told Stadium  that she believes that Meyer also knew at the time. "I do believe he knew and instead he chose to help the abuser and enable the abuser and believe whatever story Zach was telling everybody," Smith said. If this is true,  Meyer will likely be fired in the coming days after the investigation is done. Zach Smith was fired by the university after it learned of domestic violence reports that date back to 2009 and 2015. Meyer said in an interview that he ...
