Sammy Sosa......STOP IT!

I just had to use my boy Raphael "Controversy" favorite line when I looked into Sammy Sosa's latest interview with ESPN reporter Jeremy Schaap and it was only right to tell Sammy Sosa to......STOP IT! That's Raph's favorite line when non-sense starts to spew out of someone's mouth when discussing sports and boy have I heard that line many times. There are two instances where I feel this phrase puts Sosa's lies to bed.   First off, Sammy Sosa has been questioned by sports fans and the media about his appearance nowadays, as he has a lighter skin tone than he did during his playing days. When asked about his "new look" he replied,   “ Look at what I am today,” Sosa said. “ This is my life, and I don’t take garbage from nobody . I do whatever I want.” “It’s a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed and whitens my skin tone,” Sosa told  Univision  in 2009. “It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleach

Smitty's Top 10 NBA players heading into the 2018-2019 season

The NBA has some of the best athletes in sports but when it comes to playing basketball, some players stand out and know how to take their game to another level. Here are my top 10 players that can do just that, play at another level.  1. LeBron James SF Los Angeles Lakers  2017-2018 Stats: 27.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.1 apg   The king lived up to his name this season as he carried the Cavs to a 4th straight finals appearance. He played in all 82 games (first time in his career) and endured a trade, so he's still #1. 2. Kevin Durant SF Golden State Warriors 2017-2018 Stats:  26.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.4 apg  The now 2-time NBA champion and Finals MVP also put on a show this past season as he excelled on the defensive side of the ball, something he isn't known for throughout his career.  3. Anthony Davis C New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018 Stats: 28.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg  This young stud is only getting better with time, he lost his running

Lebron Vs Lebron

The problem is, on the court, Lebron is "Battling” himself!!!

Is it time for the Bucs to part ways with Jameis Winston?

Jameis Winston entered the NFL with a monkey on his back in 2015 and now it's beginning to wear him down. It started with a shoplifting charge at a Florida Publix and now it's upgraded to a possible sexual assault of an uber driver in March 2016, so is he worth the headache for the Bucs? The 4th year quarterback is facing a three game suspension from the league for violating the league's personal conduct policy, which is vital to a team that had a good draft and were looking to compete in a very tough NFC South. The NFL rendered an eight month investigation into the 2016 incident in which Winston was accused of gripping an uber driver. The investigation has taken many twists and turns since it started and one of the players that was partying with Winston, Brandon Banks, is now serving a 15-year prison sentence for  rape. He has changed his statement saying Winston was alone with the Uber driver. Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby, the third player involved in this wild

Top 10 NBA championship teams of All-Time

One of the hardest debates in sports is matching up championship teams in any sport, and who would win if they faced off with their championship rosters. Well I'm going to give you my top 10 NBA teams of all-time, and there will/should definitely be a lot of feedback because every fan has a different perspective or opinion. Here's my top 10 teams : 1. '95-'96 Chicago Bulls These 72-9 Bulls bullied the NBA into submission as this was the start of their second championship run. This team was strong on both ends of the floor, which I think gives them the edge over anyone. 2. '85-'86 Boston Celtics Boston"s '86 team led by Parish, Bird and McHale may have been the deepest team in NBA history. They have All-Star caliber players like Bill Walton, Dennis Johnson and Sam Vincent coming off the pine. If the 1996 Bulls needed competition, this Celtics team would give them a strong 7-game series. 3. '86-'87 Los Angeles Lakers The

Butler, T'Wolves have "questions" about Wiggins; Could the young star be on the trade block soon?

Jimmy Butler may be one of the best defenders in the NBA, and when he takes offense to another not doing the same, which means there is likely going to be trouble.

What factors will go into the "Decision III"?

The Cleveland Cavaliers now they have to look forward to a possible "Decision II". LeBron James will probably take as much time as possible to make a decision on who to suit up for next season.

Could LeBron be moving to......The Bay area?

Stephen A. Smith has put the word out that LeBron will "Sit down" and talk to the Golden State Warriors this offseason as he puts his plans in motion on where to continue his career.

5 Burning questions as the NBA offseason looms near

The NBA summer is right around the corner and there's always a surprise that NBA fans don't see coming.  Just like LeBron hit us with "The Decision"  nearly a decade ago, it tells us nothing is final until the ink dries on the contract, just ask DeAndre Jordan. Kevin Durant chose to take his talents to the Bay and join the Warriors to cement his legacy as one of the best small forwards to ever play. It's 2018 and there will be sure surprises but bigger questions, I'll throw out a few and tell me what you think: 1. Where will LeBron James take his talents? Will he stay in "The Land"? This is a question fans in all facets of the game want to know, so the drama will be thick enough to cut with a knife. After "Coming home" James put the Cavs on his back and willed them to the city's first championship in 50 years. Now it's time for him to conquer his dreams of winning titles and finding a better squad to suite his talents.  H

Game 2 NBA Finals: Thoughts

As I've stated earlier, I'm very critical of Lebron James. I get tired of the G word and the comparison of the real 23 and so on. I said it in the 1st blog and I will say it on this one. This game 2 loss was not his fault. While not dropping 50 points, he more than a well round game.

D'Andre Swift could be the next phenom at Georgia

The former high school All-American is poised and confident to be a leader next season.
