Why the Atlanta Hawks should target Jayson Tatum

The Atlanta Hawks hold the number three overall pick in the NBA draft this month, and their are rumors that the Celtics are trying to make a deal. The deal is rumored that the Celtics want the 5th overall pick from Dallas in exchange for Jaylen Brown and the 27th overall pick. The deal will not get done because the Mavericks want Jayson Tatum instead.

Well I've already wrote on Atlanta acquiring Jaylen Brown and now that I know that it could get done, why not aim higher? If the Celtics won't give him up for the 5th pick,  would they think about it for 2 top 20 picks?

I actually think they would because they would have a definite shot at their target and that's Texas big man Mo Bamba. Danny Ainge is in love with him and if he could add Bamba to an already young core of talent, it could set the Celtics up for a bright future that's already promising.

I know the Hawks need a big in this draft but there will be players like Greg Monroe, Julius Randle and Jusuf Nurkic on the market, so taking a shot at a Tatum would be one in willing to take if I'm Schlenk.

Like Jaylen Brown, Tatum could also play guard or forward and could run with any lineup Pierce decides to put on the floor. Tatum has shown his upside on both ends of the floor but I still think his ceiling is much higher.

Here's a trade that may get the Celtics to listen:

Hawks get:

F Jayson Tatum

Celtics get:

3rd overall pick
19th overall pick
F DeAndre Bembry

It would be a lot to give up for Tatum but if you can get a kid that is a rising superstar, why not? Atlanta hasn't seen anything close to a superstar in nearly 25 years so it's past due.

The Falcons drafting a running back could be a smart move

The Atlanta Falcons are bringing in running back prospects to interview and work out for the upcoming NFL draft starting with Georgia running back Nick Chubb. It's something I definitely agree  with as a fan and an analyst.

Smitty's Top 10 NBA players heading into the 2018-2019 season

The NBA has some of the best athletes in sports but when it comes to playing basketball, some players stand out and know how to take their game to another level. Here are my top 10 players that can do just that, play at another level.  1. LeBron James SF Los Angeles Lakers  2017-2018 Stats: 27.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.1 apg   The king lived up to his name this season as he carried the Cavs to a 4th straight finals appearance. He played in all 82 games (first time in his career) and endured a trade, so he's still #1. 2. Kevin Durant SF Golden State Warriors 2017-2018 Stats:  26.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.4 apg  The now 2-time NBA champion and Finals MVP also put on a show this past season as he excelled on the defensive side of the ball, something he isn't known for throughout his career.  3. Anthony Davis C New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018 Stats: 28.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg  This young stud is only getting better with ...
