3 players the Atlanta Hawks should consider with the 3rd overall pick

The Atlanta Hawks have a lot of building to do and since I put out my last article "Why Marvin Bagley should be the Hawks pick at #3", I've had some time to look over other choices they could possibly explore at the 3rd pick. International sensation Luka Doncic is unsure whether he will leave his Euro league team,  but chances are he will be taken in the top 3. Here are three players I think the Hawks could replace Bagley with at #3 or if they trade down.

PF Jaren Jackson Jr. Michigan State

Jackson maybe has one of the highest ceilings of the big men in the 2018 class, his mobility coupled with a 7'0 wingspan could make him the steal of the draft. His shot blocking and rim protecting ability will be his strength until the rest of his offensive skill set develops.

PG Collin Sexton Fr. Alabama

The Hawks future with Dennis Schroder is still in the air and bringing in a playmaker on offense could help Atlanta's growth. He is a bit raw but his competitive nature is something a young Hawks team and coach could use in their rebuilding process.

SG/SF Mikal Bridges Jr. Villanova

Atlanta needs a shooting guard that can space the floor and be versatile on the defensive end which means Bridges could be that guy. Bridges can score on the wing or on the catch and shoot, which is a plus for the Hawks who struggled with both last season.

These players could come in and make an instant impact with an organization that is starting a new era. New Head Coach Lloyd Pierce is good at player development, so any flaws that these rookies come in with he will help them improve on their game.

Atlanta has 3 picks in the 1st so don't be surprised if they move up and take one of these players to go along with their first selection.

The Falcons drafting a running back could be a smart move

The Atlanta Falcons are bringing in running back prospects to interview and work out for the upcoming NFL draft starting with Georgia running back Nick Chubb. It's something I definitely agree  with as a fan and an analyst.

What will the Atlanta Falcons do at #26?

The Atlanta Falcons are two years post-Super Bowl appearance and they still have a nice window to return there. They have some holes to fill on both sides of the ball, whether it's to find a starter or to add depth at key positions. I think they could use the #26 pick in the first round of the draft to add depth at defensive tackle, right guard, tight end or free safety. Grady Jarrett needs a big body on the other side of him, with Dontari Poe hitting free agency Atlanta has to get a space eater/gap filler that helps in the run game. Austin Hooper has been a good addition to the Falcons offense, but still needs to grow and Atlanta needs reliable hands in the red zone. Wes Schweitzer has not been consistent and has seen some bad snaps that could land him as a role player. This could be the position the Falcons could use the 26th pick but that still remains to be seen. The Falcons need depth at the safety with the team releasing Ishmael and R...

Smitty's Top 10 NBA players heading into the 2018-2019 season

The NBA has some of the best athletes in sports but when it comes to playing basketball, some players stand out and know how to take their game to another level. Here are my top 10 players that can do just that, play at another level.  1. LeBron James SF Los Angeles Lakers  2017-2018 Stats: 27.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.1 apg   The king lived up to his name this season as he carried the Cavs to a 4th straight finals appearance. He played in all 82 games (first time in his career) and endured a trade, so he's still #1. 2. Kevin Durant SF Golden State Warriors 2017-2018 Stats:  26.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.4 apg  The now 2-time NBA champion and Finals MVP also put on a show this past season as he excelled on the defensive side of the ball, something he isn't known for throughout his career.  3. Anthony Davis C New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018 Stats: 28.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg  This young stud is only getting better with ...
