Why Marvin Bagley should be the Hawks pick at #3

The Atlanta Hawks came out of the draft lottery with the #3 pick in next month's draft and all the talk that surrounding their next future star. They're a lot of ways to go with this pick but since Atlanta has 3 1st rounders they should take the best available. I'm going to put my vote in for Marvin Bagley III out of Duke University and I'll give you my thoughts on why I like Bagley as Atlanta 1st pick of the first round.

Marvin Bagley's versatility could make some teams forget about DeAndre Ayton because he can score inside (61%) and from the perimeter (39%) which could make him dangerous at the next level. Al Horford was the last versatile Power Forward to play in a Hawks uniform but Bagley could have a bigger impact. His presence on the offense glass could help his production. He is a walking double-double machine (21 points 11 rebounds as a freshman) which adds you his value.

Bagley is an athletic stretch 4 that could play Center and both Forward positions, which means he could play in any line up coach Pierce puts on the floor. He is not a true shot blocker but his lateral quickness would help him become effective on the defensive end until he develops on that end of the floor.

Atlanta could get the most out of him at the 4 spot because of his explosiveness around the rim scoring and rebounding (21 points, 11 rebounds at Duke). Bagley and 2nd year player John Collins are young and will have to continue to work on their jump shot but could make the Hawks dangerous in the open floor,  which will give the Hawks something to look forward to down the road.

I'm just going to sum up Bagley III as the perfect blend of athleticism, confidence and skill set to be a top tier player at the next level. Atlanta will just have to add talent around him that best suits his game for it to come together perfectly.

Smitty's Top 10 NBA players heading into the 2018-2019 season

The NBA has some of the best athletes in sports but when it comes to playing basketball, some players stand out and know how to take their game to another level. Here are my top 10 players that can do just that, play at another level.  1. LeBron James SF Los Angeles Lakers  2017-2018 Stats: 27.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.1 apg   The king lived up to his name this season as he carried the Cavs to a 4th straight finals appearance. He played in all 82 games (first time in his career) and endured a trade, so he's still #1. 2. Kevin Durant SF Golden State Warriors 2017-2018 Stats:  26.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.4 apg  The now 2-time NBA champion and Finals MVP also put on a show this past season as he excelled on the defensive side of the ball, something he isn't known for throughout his career.  3. Anthony Davis C New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018 Stats: 28.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg  This young stud is only getting better with time, he lost his running

The Falcons drafting a running back could be a smart move

The Atlanta Falcons are bringing in running back prospects to interview and work out for the upcoming NFL draft starting with Georgia running back Nick Chubb. It's something I definitely agree  with as a fan and an analyst.
