Why the Hawks have to land DeAndre Ayton in the NBA draft

Open Field Report writer Donovan Howard (Simon Fennix) asked the question Atlanta Hawks! Where's our Superstar?? Well, I have an answer right here and it will be sooner than you think Hawks fans!

The Atlanta Hawks will definitely be in the top 3 picks in the NBA draft this June and it's one player they fit what they are trying to do who they should exclusively focus on, DeAndre Ayton!
Coach Mike Budenholzer comes from the Greg Popovich tree of coaching, so he has built his teams according to that system. Ayton is a gentle giant that could be the Tim Duncan of a team with the right pieces around him.

Atlanta could use him to add to a young, solid frontcourt that already includes John Collins and Taurean Prince. If you add Ayton, that's a frontcourt that could develop nicely and give Atlanta a bright future.

The Hawks last true big man (7'0 our taller) was Dikembe Mutombo, but with Ayton you have versatility, scoring (20.1 PPG), crashing the boards (11.6 RPG) and blocking shots (1.9). He could be a Joel Embiid type player if coached in the right system. Ayton is still very young (turns 20 in July) so his ceiling can be very high.

Atlanta could have 3 first round picks and Dennis Schroeder could be on the trading block soon so the Hawks could get this thing turned around in the next couple of seasons. They were a 60-win team a couple of seasons ago and with the right moves they could get back there and save coach Bud as well.

Smitty's Top 10 NFL Pass Rushers

I'm always putting myself to the test when it comes to top 10 list but it's something I love to do and this time I'm going after the top 10 pass NFL pass rushers.  Former Patriots great Willie McGinest put out his top 10, so I'm going to put my list to the test against one of the greats. Here we go!
