The Pittsburgh Steelers have a tough choice to make soon when it comes to running back Le'Veon Bell and his future with the organization. Bell is holding out looking for a new deal, but it seems like the Steelers organization have wiped their hands with the situation and may be planning to move on from Le'Veon. Bell will be an expensive item if he hits the open market, so interested teams better have their future pretty much sorted out. If Pittsburgh decides to trade the All-pro running back, here are five teams that should pick up the phone and try to strike a deal for Bell:
New York Jets
New York hasn't seen a feature back since Hall of Famer Curtis Martin and with a young gun at QB Bell's versatility could ease his development into the league. If I'm Todd Bowles pushing for Bell would be a high priority.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jameis Winston needs an every down back to help open up his playbook and give him more open windows to throw in Mike Evans' direction. This actually could also save this Franchise from having to start over again. A three headed monster like Winston, Bell and Evans would be nice in a tough NFC South.
Green Bay Packers
I know you are saying, "Aaron Rodgers doesn't need a running back?" That would be false, give one of the best QB's in the game an elite back and his greatness shines even more! Two of the most versatile players at their position could be scary and it takes pressure off Rodgers, which means less injuries. I think it becomes Titletown instantly.
Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are another team that's been in a drought when it comes to feature backs, and if they want to get back to championship form, Le'Veon Bell would be an excellent start. Yes, Andrew Luck is still iffy with his shoulder, but Bell could lighten his workload and give him a safety blanket in the process. The Colts also have the cap space ($51 million) to male Mr. Bell a happy man.
Houston Texans
If you want to see a dynamic trio in action, this would be the perfect landing spot for Bell. The asking price will be up there (maybe a 1st and 3rd), so the Texans could probably throw in Lamar Miller (888 rush yards 3 TD, 36 receptions) to sweeten the deal. Watson would have a 1,000 yard receiver and 1,000 yard rusher, which could probably put them directly in Super Bowl contention.
Sleeper pick: San Francisco 49ers
The Niners lost prized free agent Jerick McKinnon to a torn ACL, so jumping in the Bell sweepstakes is a no-brainer. Bell would fit Shanahan's system to a T with his ability to catch out the football of the backfield, it gives their $100 million dollar QB a legit homerun threat. Yes, it would be hard to re-sign Bell because of McKinnon's deal but they would probably ship McKinnon off or restructure his deal to fit Le'Veon in.
