What will the Atlanta Falcons do at #26?

The Atlanta Falcons are two years post-Super Bowl appearance and they still have a nice window to return there. They have some holes to fill on both sides of the ball, whether it's to find a starter or to add depth at key positions. I think they could use the #26 pick in the first round of the draft to add depth at defensive tackle, right guard, tight end or free safety.

Grady Jarrett needs a big body on the other side of him, with Dontari Poe hitting free agency Atlanta has to get a space eater/gap filler that helps in the run game.

Austin Hooper has been a good addition to the Falcons offense, but still needs to grow and Atlanta needs reliable hands in the red zone.

Wes Schweitzer has not been consistent and has seen some bad snaps that could land him as a role player. This could be the position the Falcons could use the 26th pick but that still remains to be seen.

The Falcons need depth at the safety with the team releasing Ishmael and Ricardo Allen coming up on a contract year, this could be a safety blanket pick that could be a replacement down the road.

Here are the best prospects at those positions:

Guard:

Quenton Nelson (Notre Dame), Billy Price (Ohio State), Will Hernandez (UTEP), Isaiah Wynn (Georgia)

Defensive Tackle:

Vita Vea (Washington), Da'Ron Payne (Alabama), Taven Bryant (Florida), Maurice Hurst (Michigan)

Free Safety:

Minkah Fitzpatrick (Alabama), Derwin James (Florida State), Justin Reid (Stanford), Ronnie Harrison (Alabama), Terrell Edmunds (Virginia Tech)

Tight End:

Hayden Hurst (South Carolina), Mark Andrews (Oklahoma), Dallas Goedert (South Dakota State), Mike Giesicki (Penn State)

These positions are key to adding talent to their roster and push the Falcons to the next level. Atlanta could also trade back and acquire more picks if a team like Cleveland would trade up the Falcons could possibly get two second-round picks, which would make up for the fifth round pick they do not have this year.

Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn always find gems in the mid rounds so they may stay content with their order in each round.

Whatever the War room in Atlanta will agree upon, this could be a critical draft that could shape the immediate future for the team.

The Falcons drafting a running back could be a smart move

The Atlanta Falcons are bringing in running back prospects to interview and work out for the upcoming NFL draft starting with Georgia running back Nick Chubb. It's something I definitely agree  with as a fan and an analyst.

Smitty's Top 10 NBA players heading into the 2018-2019 season

The NBA has some of the best athletes in sports but when it comes to playing basketball, some players stand out and know how to take their game to another level. Here are my top 10 players that can do just that, play at another level.  1. LeBron James SF Los Angeles Lakers  2017-2018 Stats: 27.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.1 apg   The king lived up to his name this season as he carried the Cavs to a 4th straight finals appearance. He played in all 82 games (first time in his career) and endured a trade, so he's still #1. 2. Kevin Durant SF Golden State Warriors 2017-2018 Stats:  26.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.4 apg  The now 2-time NBA champion and Finals MVP also put on a show this past season as he excelled on the defensive side of the ball, something he isn't known for throughout his career.  3. Anthony Davis C New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018 Stats: 28.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg  This young stud is only getting better with ...
