There is a debate every season about the top ten QB's in the NFL and its always different views on why fans pick their top 10. It's not a science by any means, but I'm going to give you my top 10, then you can match them up against your list. Here are my top 10:
1. Tom Brady Patriots
Brady is still at the top, He put up career numbers at 40 and put his team back in the Super Bowl for an eight time. Look for him to keep fighting for #5. If you think he's done just look back at his 505-yard performance in Super Bowl 52.
2. Drew Brees Saints
Brees has kept the Big Easy in contention even when they struggled on defense and he was one play short of returning to the Super Bowl. Look for the NFC South to have their hands full once more in 2018 and the record books are also in trouble.
3. Ben Roethlisberger Steelers
Some questioned Ben's will to play the game, but he led the Steelers to a great season and seems to have his head on straight again. Once he gets his running back under contract, Pittsburgh will give this squad one last ride.
4. Aaron Rodgers Packers
Even though he injured his shoulder, Rodgers fought to come back and put the Pack in the playoff chase but fell short doing so. I couldn't let one of the best in the game fall out of the top 5.
5. Carson Wentz Eagles
Wentz suffered a season-ending knee injury that ended his MVP campaign, but the team rode Nick Foles to the Championship. If Wentz can return to form look for the Eagles to make a deep playoff run.
6. Russell Wilson Seahawks
It was amazing what Wilson did last season without a running game last season and they also had key players hurt on defense, which is why he should have been in the MVP conversation.
7. Matt Ryan Falcons
Matty Ice had a solid year despite having to adjust to a new coordinator, learning a new playbook and losing a key target in Jacob Tamme. If Ryan bounces back like he did in his last season with Shanahan, look out NFL.
8. Cam Newton Panthers
Newton got back to his old ways last season with the read option and even though he lost one of his key targets in Kelvin Benjamin, he still took shots downfield, but his completion percentage dropped dramatically. He will have a new deep target in speedster Torrey Smith so we will see how much he takes advantage of it.
9. Derek Carr Raiders
Derek Carr improved his accuracy and decision making even though he was without Amari Cooper who struggled with concussions. He lost Michael Crabtree to free agency, but gained a veteran in his place in Jordy Nelson, but can the Raiders fix their defensive woes to finally get this team back to its glory days.
10. Matthew Stafford Lions
Matthew Stafford continues to be one of the most underrated and unappreciated QB's in the game. He can make any throw against any coverage, but his consistency and gunslinger mentality puts him and his team in too many bad situations that they cannot recover from. If he can put up more points I think they could be a scary team offensively.
Those are my top ten quarterbacks in the NFL, so post your ten in the comment box below!
