FUTURE OF THE DEFENSIVE M.V.P

WATCH THIS VIDEO!

                  Defense M.V.P????
It's time we see a defensive MVP!!!!

We haven't seen one since 1986. That was Lawrence Taylor AKA number 56 of the New York Giants. And most importantly, It was well deserved too might I add!!!!

Here are a few Defensive Players in my honest opinion that definitely deserved it over the offensive winner(s)....

2004 can be an arguable year. I'm a Manning fan, and he did break Marino's record that year, but:
Ed Reed got down that year.
He had 9 INTS 358 yds and a TD. He was defensive player of the year, but I think he deserved to be MVP.

Also, in 2008, Reed again made a strong statement for MVP with 9 INTS (again leading the league) for 264yds and 2 TDS one going for a record 108 yds...
Again, he was beat by Manning.

DeMarcus Ware possibly that year should have been it with 20 sacks. If I'm a gambling man, honestly he'd be the clear winner.....

Remember in 08, Manning barely threw for 4000 yds and was under 30 TDS...

Moving to 2009, Prior to his off field incidents/issues,
Darren Sharper was clearly snubbed as the MVP.
9ints for 376yds (I believe this is a record for most yards) 3 TDS returned....
Come on now!!!!
Manning again with 4500 TDs and 33 TDS... Brees passed for way more yards!!!

2014..... A definite snubbing of a defensive player...
Watts for the 2nd time in his career had 20.5 sacks...
Rodgers is my favorite QB in the league, but while an impressive season, the numbers he put up weren't enough to justify him edging out Watts
4300 yds, an impressive 7 to 1 INT ratio, but not enough in my eye...

That's my 98 cents...

The Falcons drafting a running back could be a smart move

The Atlanta Falcons are bringing in running back prospects to interview and work out for the upcoming NFL draft starting with Georgia running back Nick Chubb. It's something I definitely agree  with as a fan and an analyst.

What will the Atlanta Falcons do at #26?

The Atlanta Falcons are two years post-Super Bowl appearance and they still have a nice window to return there. They have some holes to fill on both sides of the ball, whether it's to find a starter or to add depth at key positions. I think they could use the #26 pick in the first round of the draft to add depth at defensive tackle, right guard, tight end or free safety. Grady Jarrett needs a big body on the other side of him, with Dontari Poe hitting free agency Atlanta has to get a space eater/gap filler that helps in the run game. Austin Hooper has been a good addition to the Falcons offense, but still needs to grow and Atlanta needs reliable hands in the red zone. Wes Schweitzer has not been consistent and has seen some bad snaps that could land him as a role player. This could be the position the Falcons could use the 26th pick but that still remains to be seen. The Falcons need depth at the safety with the team releasing Ishmael and R...

Smitty's Top 10 NBA players heading into the 2018-2019 season

The NBA has some of the best athletes in sports but when it comes to playing basketball, some players stand out and know how to take their game to another level. Here are my top 10 players that can do just that, play at another level.  1. LeBron James SF Los Angeles Lakers  2017-2018 Stats: 27.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.1 apg   The king lived up to his name this season as he carried the Cavs to a 4th straight finals appearance. He played in all 82 games (first time in his career) and endured a trade, so he's still #1. 2. Kevin Durant SF Golden State Warriors 2017-2018 Stats:  26.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.4 apg  The now 2-time NBA champion and Finals MVP also put on a show this past season as he excelled on the defensive side of the ball, something he isn't known for throughout his career.  3. Anthony Davis C New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018 Stats: 28.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg  This young stud is only getting better with ...
