Kobe to join the BIG3? Why it makes sense

Article by Antwon "Smitty" Smith

Kobe Bryant has been in the headlines a lot the last couple of days, and it's safe to say that the hits just keep on coming for the retired NBA star as rumors have surfaced that he will play in the Big 3 league in 2019.

The league's co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz announced that "Kobe will play in the BIG3 next season" during a conference call on Tuesday morning according to multiple reports.

Bryant 39, played his last game in the NBA in April of 2016 after 0 years with the Los Angeles Lakers, has started to venture into the business world after retirement and now he might step back into the spotlight (slightly). Stephen Jackson called out Bryant to "suit up" and join the Big3, so now fans are waiting on Kobe to go public and give an answer as far as his plans to play or not.

Getting Bryant to play in the league would help it gain bigger notoriety and put them on a bigger platform where other retired players would possibly join and help expand the league.  Ice Cube tried recruiting Bryant when the league took off in 2017, so now he may get his wish and come up with the next phase of the league. He admitted that adding Bryant would be "Amazing."
