Patrick Peterson wants out of Arizona; 5 Potential landing spots

Article by Antwon "Smitty" Smith

Arizona Cardinals All-Pro Defensive Back Patrick Peterson wants out of Arizona according to multiple sources and he expects to be traded by the October 30th deadline. Peterson citing that things are "deteriorating" with the team, even with new head coach Steve Wilks. Arizona is off to a 1-6 start in 2018 and seem to be headed towards another top 10 pick. The 7x-time pro bowl corner will have some suitors and here are the teams that make the most sense in my opinion.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints always need help at corner and Peterson's freakish athletic ability would help a Saints secondary that needs a playmaker. It would also help their pass rush, which given the time could be one of the best. If he lands here they rise to the top of the NFC.

Kansas City Chiefs

Andy Reid needs to get Eric Berry some help back in their decimated defensive backfield. They traded Marcus Peters this past off-season and need to find a replacement because their corners give up to many big plays.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers have a young secondary and need a veteran presence to mentor them as they grow. Peterson could be the missing piece this defense needs to get back to a respectable level.

New England Patriots

The Pats are the Yankees of the NFL, if they see a star on the market their name will likely come up in the conversation, even if they don't pursue. New England has a veteran secondary that can play but a playmaker like Peterson wouldn't hurt at all.

Atlanta Falcons

I know this is a reach but Desmond Trufant hasn't been the same since his 2016 season ending injury and to make and even swap (contract numbers are similar) , the Cardinals could also receive a 3rd rounder and both teams win.

Yes, even though Steve Wilks insists Arizona will not part ways with Patrick Peterson, they would probably like to get the remaining 2 years/$25 million off the books. Patrick Peterson is only 28 years old so he's still a young top tier defensive back in the league.

The Falcons drafting a running back could be a smart move

The Atlanta Falcons are bringing in running back prospects to interview and work out for the upcoming NFL draft starting with Georgia running back Nick Chubb. It's something I definitely agree  with as a fan and an analyst.

Smitty's Top 10 NBA players heading into the 2018-2019 season

The NBA has some of the best athletes in sports but when it comes to playing basketball, some players stand out and know how to take their game to another level. Here are my top 10 players that can do just that, play at another level.  1. LeBron James SF Los Angeles Lakers  2017-2018 Stats: 27.5 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 9.1 apg   The king lived up to his name this season as he carried the Cavs to a 4th straight finals appearance. He played in all 82 games (first time in his career) and endured a trade, so he's still #1. 2. Kevin Durant SF Golden State Warriors 2017-2018 Stats:  26.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 5.4 apg  The now 2-time NBA champion and Finals MVP also put on a show this past season as he excelled on the defensive side of the ball, something he isn't known for throughout his career.  3. Anthony Davis C New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018 Stats: 28.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 2.3 apg  This young stud is only getting better with ...
