Smitty's NFL Mock Draft 2.0

Well, it's time to get my second and final mock draft out there (Unless a major trade happens) so buckle your seatbelt because there will be a lot of surprises, so let's get this mock draft rolling!

1. Cleveland Browns - QB Sam Darnold USC

Browns have to have a signal caller and Darnold is separating himself from the pack.

2. New York Giants- RB Saquon Barkley Penn State

It's been a while since the G-Men had a 1,000-yard rusher, so Barkley makes too much sense here. It could also benefit Eli's longevity as well.

3. New York Jets- QB Josh Rosen UCLA

The Jets trade up for the signal caller they've been looking at for a while.

4. Cleveland Browns- DE Bradley Chubb N.C. State

I think to pair him up with Myles Garrett makes sense, Two pass rushing talents wreaking havoc could help a rebuilding Browns secondary.

5. Denver Broncos- QB Josh Allen Wyoming

Elway gets his big arm quarterback but look for a last minute deal from the Bills if Allen's is on the clock.

6. Indianapolis Colts- G Quenton Nelson Notre Dame

If the Colts want to better their line this guy is a great building block. They may trade back also to gather more picks.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DB Minkah Fitzpatrick Alabama

Fitzpatrick fills a definite need at safety and gives them another playmaker on defense.

8. Chicago Bears- LB Tremaine Edmunds Virginia Tech

This guy is a freak of nature and could be a great pairing with Leonard Floyd. Potentially they could trade back and get the offensive lineman they need.

9. San Francisco 49ers- CB Denzel Ward Ohio State

The 49ers need to add depth at this position with Jimmy Ward's contract expiring, San Francisco could also go safety here, but corner is a definite need.

10. Oakland Raiders- LB Roquan Smith Georgia

The Raiders need a leader on defense and Smith brings those qualities. They need corner help but this is too good to pass up.

11. Miami Dolphins- QB Baker Mayfield Oklahoma

Mayfield may go in the top 5 but if he falls this is the ideal spot for him. The Dolphins may move up in the top 5 or go in another direction.

12. Buffalo Bills- LB Rashaan Evans Alabama

Buffalo needs help at linebacker and this kid will stick around for a while. Great athleticism, speed and has a nose for the football.

13. Washington Redskins- DT Vita Vea Washington

Preston Smith needs help up front with stopping the run and Vea mammoth size could also mean more one on one match ups for Smith and Kerrigan.

14. Green Bay Packers- CB Mike Hughes UCF

Hughes would come in and compete for a starting spot day 1 because the Packers have no superstar at that position.

15. Arizona Cardinals- WR Calvin Ridley Alabama

The Cardinals need a QB, but if they can't make the trade up look for them to solidify their receiver core. This guy is physical and can make plays, so look for him to line up alongside Fitzgerald.

16. Baltimore Ravens-OT Conner Williams Texas

The Ravens need a young strong tackle to protect Flacco's blindside against a pass rush oriented division.

17. Los Angeles Chargers- DT Maurice Hurst Michigan

The Chargers need a big body in the middle of Gus Bradley's 3-4 scheme, Vea is a big run stopper who can move and take on double coverage with no problem. A couple of teams will be after this guy so look for him to come off the board maybe before this pick.

18. Seattle Seahawks- S Derwin James

The Seahawks will have to fill Kam Chancellor's spot in the line-up and there's not a player in this draft that fits his skill set like James. Derwin can play in the slot or in the box so this would be the perfect fit for him.

19. Dallas Cowboys- WR D.J. Moore

The Cowboys need youth at receiver and Moore's playmaking ability will help Prescott rebound in year three.

20. Detroit Lions- DT Da'Ron Payne

The Lions need help in the middle of their defensive line and Payne's pass rush ability and strong presence in the run game makes him a good pick here. I debated with this one a lot because Derrius Guice could be a good pick here too.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- G Isaiah Wynn

McGlinchey is a monster in the trenches, good pass blocker and dominating run blocker that could be a cornerstone for a long time.

22. Buffalo Bills- WR Christian Kirk

A.J. McCarron needs targets and Kirk is rising up draft boards so look for the Bills to go offense with their 2nd pick of the round. Look for the Lamar Jackson sweepstakes to start here.

23. New England Patriots OT Mike McGlinchey Notre Dame

McGlinchey is a monster in the trenches, good pass blocker and dominating run blocker that could be a cornerstone tackle for long time.

24. Carolina Panthers- S Justin Reid Stanford

The Panthers need help on the back end of their secondary.Reid is one of the best cover safeties in the draft. He versatility will be key in a high powered offensive division.

25. Tennessee Titans- Edge Josh Sweat Florida State

I was at an impasse with this pick so I'll give credit to my boy Mike Patton on this one!
Check out his thoughts here:Florida State's Josh Sweat could help the Titans in the NFL Draft

26. Atlanta Falcons- DT Taven Bryan Florida

The Falcons need a day 1 starter,  they get that and a perfect fit into coach Quinn's scheme.

27. New Orleans Saints- TE Hayden Hurst South Carolina

Brees needs a target to work the seams and the red zone and Hurst is the perfect fit.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers- S Ronnie Harrison Alabama

Pittsburgh needs a safety that can cover and be an enforcer on the field, Harrison fits that mold.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars- WR Courtland Sutton SMU

Allen Robinson will not be franchised so there's a definite need at receiver for the Jags. Sutton's big frame is a must for the Jags receivers and his 6'4 frame gives Bortles a catch radius he's never had, which is a plus.

30. Minnesota Vikings- G Will Hernandez UTEP

31. New England Patriots- Edge Harold Landry Boston College

The Patriots need pass rushers PERIOD! Landry is tough against the run, but he took plays off, something Bill Belichick can help him with. He was set back a little after a 16.5 2016 but he has the same instinct that made him one of the schools greatest players.

32. Philadelphia Eagles- TE Dallas Goedert South Dakota State

The Eagles need youth at the tight end position, and Wentz's former teammate could bring a plus with his championship pedigree.

Smitty's Top 10 NFL Pass Rushers

I'm always putting myself to the test when it comes to top 10 list but it's something I love to do and this time I'm going after the top 10 pass NFL pass rushers.  Former Patriots great Willie McGinest put out his top 10, so I'm going to put my list to the test against one of the greats. Here we go!
